BSNL sensitive Data breached

BSNL users' data is at risk once again. Athenian Technologies claims that a person has put 278 GB of data belonging to users up for sale.

State-owned telecom company BSNL's user data is at risk once again. Users' personal data has been leaked. This is the second time that customer data has been hacked in the last six months. Athena Technologies claims that this data contains information such as SIM card details, International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI), home location, etc.

According to Athentian Technologies in its report, a person named Cyber Phantom was selling 278 GB of BSNL data for $5000. This data is likely to be misused to create fake SIM cards. It warns that criminals may use these details to gain unauthorized access to users' personal accounts, commit cyber-attacks and commit fraud.

In December last year, the data of BSNL fiber and landline users was leaked. On the other hand. BNSL is preparing to make 4G services available across the country soon. Data hacking is a concern these days. Cyber experts say that due to this type of data leakage, companies will have to face legal implications as well as loss of consumer trust.
