Government Set to Introduce U-Win App for Comprehensive Vaccination Information
Following the tremendous success of the Co-Win app, the government is gearing up to launch the U-Win app. This new application is poised to revolutionize the management of vaccination information, with a particular focus on ensuring the welfare of pregnant women and children by providing them with an easy way to track their vaccination details.
The initiative to digitalize India's Universal Immunisation Programme (UIP) has been initiated as a pilot project in two districts of every Indian state and Union Territory.
U-Win Portal: Your Vaccination E-card
Upon registering on the U-Win app, users will receive an electronic vaccination card, offering a comprehensive overview of their vaccination schedule. This includes past immunizations and upcoming vaccination dates, ensuring individuals remain up-to-date with their vaccinations.
The U-Win app is designed to safeguard against a spectrum of 12 vaccine-preventable diseases. Nationally, it covers 11 diseases, including diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, polio, measles, rubella, severe childhood tuberculosis, rotavirus diarrhoea, hepatitis B, meningitis, and pneumonia (caused by Haemophilus, Influenza type B, and pneumococcal pneumonia). On a sub-national level, it addresses Japanese Encephalitis.
Co-Win App: A Pandemic Hero
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the government unveiled the Co-Win app, which quickly gained notoriety for its role in facilitating vaccine registration. Citizens utilized the app to book vaccination appointments and obtain their vaccination certificates.
